Heliventures Limited is based in Haast, one of the world’s most remote locations, adjoining the renowned South Westland World Heritage Area and Mt Aspiring National Park.
Heliventures has been operating for over 20 years and is the only helicopter company based in the Haast region. Operating in this icon location will take your breath away as you discover the hidden wonders of New Zealand’s National Parks, glaciers, mountain lakes, ancient rainforest and spectacular alpine and coastal views.
Heliventures is a family owned and operated business with senior company pilots, Dave and Morgan Saxton, having a combined flying experience of over 40 years.
We offer a range of scenic flight options, including Milford Sound, Mt Aspiring, Mt Cook and the Glaciers. In addition to our scenic flights, other activities include guided hunting safaris, heli fishing, heli kayaking, heli rafting, heli skiing, heli jetting, aerial filming/photography and more.
Heliventures are also chartered for work in the following areas:
Search and Rescue, Orchard Frost Protection, High Country Stock Recovery, G.P.S. Surveying, Telecommunications Servicing, Logging & Ferry Work of all descriptions.
Heliventures is an approved Civil Aviation Authority operator, certificate No. 39069.

Heliventures provides clients with a safe and secure flying environment with an excellent safety record since operations commenced over 20 years ago. With our extensive flying experience we are familiar with the area throughout the South Island, particularly the West Coast, Southern Lakes, Northern Fiordland, South Canterbury and West Coast districts.
The Heliventures fleet consists primarily of Hughes 500D and Robinson 44 Raven II aircraft. Our aircraft are maintained to a high standard and are specially suited to the unique environment and high altitudes in which we conduct our operations. They are ideal for scenic flights, with an open plan cabin, making for amazing views. All aircraft are equipped with a full intercom system including headsets.
Our pilots have extensive experience in flying in New Zealand’s alpine environments including weather conditions, other aircraft routes, mountain terrain and high mountain passes. All of our crew are qualified to ensure your safety both in the air and on the ground.
