HOP, SKIP & JUMP - “The Final Frontier Spectacular”

Heliventures has put together a flight product to compliment group and coach schedules. Lost time in a tour schedule is minimised, as we can provide an opportunity of a spectacular scenic flight in this unique and diverse environment, while following the coach or group, as it is enroute to the next destination. Due to our coastal location this flight option is also a popular alternative to Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers in the event of adverse weather.

We depart from our Haast Base enroute to the Roaring Billy Falls in the Haast Pass. This flight is a 35 minute scenic tour which incorporates the local Haast scenery including alpine, snow and coastal views, mountain lakes, cascading waterfalls and lush rainforest.

All flights include an alpine or snow landing, enabling the passengers to exit the helicopter for photo opportunities and to appreciate this truly breathtaking environment that we term “The Final Frontier”.

Meeting the coach at the Roaring Billy the next group can be flown from this point, incorporating the same scenic route and snow landing, to connect with the coach again at Pleasant Flat or Davis Flat, and continuing with the final tour finishing at Makarora.

Heliventures’ helicopters have a passenger seating capacity of 3 - 5 persons and can be coordinated to fly your group numbers in the time available in your schedule. This flight option is also available to depart from the Makarora Airstrip and continues through with the final group landing at our Haast Base.
